“At a briefing held at its Eagan, Minnesota headquarters last week, Thomson Reuters announced (among other things) the launch of Firm Central, its new cloud-based practice management tool targeted at 1–10 lawyer firms.”


Donna Seyle‘s insight:

Another player in the web-based practice management field of legal technology. It appears that the structure of Firm Central does not allow the user much choice in customization (e.g., email integration is enabled for Outlook only), and does not include a client portal, an essential component for secure communication and document transmission. It also lacks any component that enables project management-type workflow, greatly reducing the utility of the technology when compared to its competition.
